Terms of Service – Áine & Co. Dress Hire

Welcome to Áine & Co.
These Terms of Service explain the agreement between Áine & Co. ("we", "our", or "us") and you, our valued customer ("you" or "your"), for the hire and use of our occasion dresses and accessories. By booking or hiring from us, you're agreeing to these terms.

1. Booking & Payment

  • All bookings must be made through our official website or in person at Áine & Co studio in Bundoran, Co. Donegal.
  • A non-refundable booking fee or deposit is required to secure your chosen dress for your selected dates.
  • We accept payments by credit or debit card through our website, or in cash when paying in person.

2. Hire Period

  • The standard hire period is 4 or 8 days, unless a longer period is agreed in advance.
  • The hire period begins on the date of collection or delivery and ends on the date of return, as stated in your confirmation.
  • Late returns may incur a €40 per day fee to cover additional costs and potential disruption to other bookings.

3. Use & Care of the Dress

  • You agree to take reasonable care of the dress while it is in your possession.
  • Dresses must not be altered, cleaned, or repaired by anyone other than Áine & Co.
  • Please avoid exposure to water, fake tan, makeup, or outdoor conditions that could cause damage.
  • Professional cleaning is included in the hire fee - simply return the dress as is.

4. Damage/Loss

  • If an item is lost, we reserve the right to charge up to the full retail value (RRP) of the item to the credit card on file. If an item is returned damaged, we also reserve the right to charge up to the RRP; however, each case will be assessed individually.
  • If a dress is lost or not returned within 7 days of the due date, it will be considered unreturned, and the full retail cost will be charged.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 30 days before the hire date qualify for a full refund, minus a €25 processing fee.
  • Cancellations 14–29 days prior receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations within 14 days of the hire date are non-refundable.
  • In special circumstances (e.g. illness, bereavement, venue cancellation), we may offer credit or rescheduling at our discretion.

6. Dress Fit

  • You're responsible for making sure your dress fits your body shape and size at the time of hire.
  • If your item doesn't fit, we're sorry, but we can't offer a refund or credit note - it's been set aside just for you and couldn't be rented by anyone else during your chosen dates.
  • We recommend booking a fitting before confirming your hire to make sure your chosen dress is the perfect fit.

7. Delivery & Collection

  • Dresses can be collected from our studio or delivered to your address (delivery charges apply).
  • When using postal delivery, Áine & Co. is not responsible for delays caused by couriers once the item has been dispatched.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • While we make every effort to ensure your complete satisfaction, Áine & Co. cannot be held responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, including (but not limited to) emotional distress, missed photo opportunities, or event cancellations.
  • Our total liability, under any circumstances, is limited to the amount paid for the hire of the item.

9. Privacy

  • We respect your privacy and handle your data in accordance with GDPR and Irish data protection law.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.
